Brief Project SAIL: Supporting Adolescents in Loss
About This Website
This website is a brief version of a full-length internet program for grief in adolescents funded by a Channel 7 Telethon Trust, WA grant. The full-length program was evaluated in 2024 in 88 adolescents and found to result in a significant improvement in well-being.
It is suitable for different kinds of grief, including the death of a person or the death of a pet as well as non-death losses such as parental divorce or relationship break-ups
The website is a self-help program. We suggest you complete it in one session with a brief break between parts 1 and 2. The idea is that you learn ideas on one day but keep on using the ideas to improve your well-being and mental health, for example, by coming back to the website to keep practicing and using the worksheets.
This website is based on cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) which is the leading evidence-based psychological treatment shown in many studies to improve mental health and wellbeing. We created this website together with young people and thank our Youth Advisory Committee who helped to create this website.
